2009-2010 Maine Deca State Officers
Kayla Geary is a seventeen year old senior at Westbrook High School. This is her second year participating in DECA through the marketing program at Westbrook Regional Vocational Center. She was a part of our WRVC chapter officer team last year and plan to be this year as well. Aside from DECA, she have been in SkillsUSA and Spanish Club for three years, and in Key Club for two. She has also been a manager of the Westbrook High School boy’s lacrosse team since freshmen year. In her spare time she’s either with friends, shopping, working, or sleeping. Kayla has been working at Joker’s Arcade as a birthday party hostess for almost two years and she loves her job. Her biggest interests and hobbies include scrap-booking, Facebook surfing, watching Grey’s Anatomy, and doing graphic designs for our school store. kayla also likes warm weather, meeting people, bright colors, driving around, eating out, watching football, and listening to country music. Oh yeah, and she is super excited to be a part of the Maine DECA state action team this year!
Krista Hakala is a senior at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School and can’t wait to attend college and majoring in marketing. Her school year is filled with alpine skiing, DECA, work at Hannaford, and an internship at her local Chamber of Commerce. She participates in ski racing on a team at her school, and at Mt Abrams. She also teaches younger kids how to race there.
Kayla is a junior at Oxford Hills High School where she is an avid member of their DECA chapter. She placed first overall in Sports and Entertainment Marketing at the State Conference last year and also attended Nationals in Anaheim where she competed and also participated in the DECA Leads seminars. She is also Student Body President, a member of key club and respect team, and a varsity alpine skier. Some of the things she loves are cooking, skiing, running and traveling.
Tyler Waterhouse is a at Westbrook High School. He is a third year marketing student and part of your state action team. In his spare time he plays three sports: soccer, basketball, and lacrosse. Tyler also has a job at a local call center as a computer sales specialist. He has been a member of DECA for three years now and in DECA he has learned a ton about Marketing, Leadership and learning how to stand out and put yourself a step ahead.
